Here on 80’s Toy Review I am always happy to talk about ANY cool toys and so when I happened upon
this set of amazing NEW toys BUT whose subject matter comes from some of the best 80’s movies.
Funko the makers of those popular POP toys has released a series of popular old movie toys.
They call the brand “Reaction”
The first set I saw was for the Goonies which is one of my all time favorite flicks.
But since then I have discovered they have much much more than that and all very cool.
The others sets in the Reaction line
- Alien
- Back to The Future
- Nightmare on Elm Street
- Hellraiser III ~ Pinhead
- Halloween ~ MIchael Myers
- The Terminator
- Predator
- The Rocketeer
The line also includes some newer properties like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Pulp Fiction (complete with the gimp action figure) and The Nightmare Before Christmas. They aren’t super detailed like some of the other modern figures. In fact what maybe makes them a little cooler is that they are less detailed which makes them seem more retro that they actually are.
There is one other group in the line I want to just talk about a little bit. It is far older in spirit than the 80’s but the connection it makes is cool.
They have a series of Universal Monsters which reminds me of the 80’s Remco Mini Monsters which I keep trying to get off of eBay and can never seem to win. (I suppose if money were no object I could easily win)
I only ever had one of the Remco mini monsters, Dracula. I really dug it, in fact I still do. He is hanging on my Boba Fett mug and remains one of my favorite toys still to this day.
If you want to check out the line here is the link.

A quick update on these figures. Originally I was going to mention that I didn’t believe they were meant to be collected in the package. The presentation was pretty “no-frills”. I ordered a few of these for my ebay store and even though I sold many of them, I felt the production quality was lacking. Some of the figure I got from the factory had weird damage. I was a little bit hesitant to actually ship them to my buyers because I felt they may be disappoint ted with the quality of the cards. What ultimately changed my mind on that was after I attempted to buy the figures in a store and then I though I could return my lower quality figure but when I found them in store they were just as bad or worse (due to being handled by other people) Huge bummer. I don’t feel I clan get my customers the highest quality. I don;t plan to carry any more when my stock is gone. Bummer!
